Is sometimes called the Queen of the Algarve and it is a rather regal town. An historical town, today you can visit the Castle which overlooks the town and the Ria Formosa sandbanks, visit some of the many (at least 22) chapels and simply enjoy wandering the very pretty streets or crossing the Roman bridge as thousands and thousands  of people have done before you.

Tavira sits by the Ria Formosa which is a very beautiful natural park, full of snadbancks, slat flats, lagoons and pristine beaches. The water is warm and incredibly clear and to get to the beaches, you take a ferry across the lagoons.
